Our Story
Our story begins with a man named Ernest, but his friends called him Ernie. He grew up in Charlotte, North Carolina, but moved to Atlanta early in his career. After working for some of the best showrooms in the interior design industry, Ernest felt the entrepreneurial calling and in 1970 established the Ernest Gaspard showroom in the Atlanta Decorative Arts Center (ADAC). Ernie was known for his always-present positive outlook, kindness and genuine interest in others.

Ernie built an exceptional, sustainable business taking care of the needs of the Interior Design community across the South. Often on the road, he met designers where they were, arriving in his signature Mercedes and with a friendly smile.
The company grew to become a spectacular multi-line showroom offering a unique and comprehensive collection of home furnishings, fabrics, wall and floor coverings, and accessories. Over the following decades, Ernie built his team to be the best in the industry. He brought in David Boone to share in the leadership responsibilities and help drive sales. Sally Tibbs and Jenny Filip also started at the company, building their careers in serving the interior design community over the pursuing decades.
After Ernie passed away in 2010, David Boone became fully responsible for the company, continuing to drive Ernie’s vision forward, while delivering impressive results for our manufacturer partners and designers. In April of 2023, ownership of the company passed to Holly and Victor Kucek, who are focused on living up to the same enduring values while helping modernize the company’s operation and setting the company up for future success.
