Behind the Brand

Founded in a Hubbardton barn in 1974 by two University of Vermont graduates, George Chandler and Reed Hampton, who embarked in an artistic, entrepreneurial adventure, Hubbardton Forge relocated in 1988 just down the road to its "forever" home in nearby Castleton. By 1993, the company had grown to 35 employees, and today, we are about 230 strong. Time-honored principles of forging are combined with the best applications of modern technologies, innovative design, and sustainable manufacturing. As we celebrate our 50th year, our core remains the same. Original designs manufactured by hand in Vermont, one at a time.
